Bonfire, S’Mores and volleyball on our front lawn. Come meet friends and tour Wesley. A great time for returning students to reunite with their Wesley friends and for incoming Freshmen and Grad Students to get a taste of what Wesley is like. Besides, can anyone really turn down a FREE S’More???
8/24/11 6:00pm – BBQ on the Lawn
Come enjoy a FREE meal on the front lawn of Wesley halfway through the first week of classes. We’ll be certain to have burgers, hot dogs and all the fixings. A vegetarian dish and dessert will also be available.
8/24/11 7:30pm – Midweek Worship
After feeding your stomach at our BBQ, come feed your soul at our first Midweek service of the semester. This is a student led worship gathering. Make it a regular part of your week during your stay here in Champaign-Urbana. If you can’t make the BBQ, just as anyone inside Wesley to direct you to Watseka Lounge if you can’t find us.
Please note that after this first week, Midweek services will begin at 8:30pm!

Looking for a fun place to hang out on Friday evening? Join us for fair-trade coffee, snacks, live entertainment, pool, TV and games.
9/5/11 8:00am – Labor Day Canoe Trip
We will be meeting at the Wesley Foundation Monday morning at 8:00 am for an hour and a half car ride to Turkey Run State Park in Indiana. Students from the Purdue Wesley Foundation will meet us there as we venture down the Sugar Creek, past beautiful sandstone walls. We will provide a picnic lunch half way through the trip. There is an optional hike at the end of the day. We should be home by 6 pm.
What to bring:
· $25 will cover all of your expenses
· Clothing to get wet
· Shoes to get wet
· Clothing to change into if you get wet
· Shoes to change into after they get wet
· Towel
· Suntan lotion (or share with others)
· Snack to share (ie. a bag of chips or soda)

9/10/11 11:00am – Football & Pizza Party
If you aren't able to score tickets to the home football game against South Dakota State, come enjoy the next best thing at Wesley! Watch the game on our BIG SCREEN TV and feast on pizza and other snacks. Join us shortly before kickoff for all of the festivities!

10/27/11 through 10/29/11 – Haunted Wesley
Each year the Wesley Foundation is transformed into the ONLY haunted house located on campus. All proceeds go to the Wesley Food Pantry, with over $5000 being raised in the last two years. This is a HUGE undertaking and WE NEED YOU. If you want to get involved in any way… from room planning, set building or advertising, all the way to applying makeup, being a character in the haunted house or being a guide… LET US KNOW!!!

Regularly Scheduled Activities
Midweek Worship
Wednesday evenings (8:30-10pm) we have a student-led worship service with praise songs, a message, communion, prayer and interactive activities. We begin in Watseka Lounge and move up to the Great Hall after announcements.
Women’s Bible Study and Fellowship
This is a time for young women to explore and think critically about various passages from the Bible or other books. Time and location will be set at the beginning of the semester. Contact campus_minister@wesleyui.org for more details.
Graduate Bible Study and Fellowship
Each semester our graduate students select a book or topic to explore together. Topics are sometimes challenging sometimes provocative but always engaging. Time and location will be set at the beginning of the semester. Click on the Grad Students tab above for full details.
International Coffee Hour
Friday afternoons (4-6pm) people from around the world gather for an informal time of conversation, coffee, snacks, cultural exchange and fun. We meet in the ETC. Coffeehouse at the east end of our building. Click on Internationals tab above for full details.
International Bible Study
While international students are welcome at all of our activities, we also offer a bible study designed especially for those from outside the United States. Click on Internationals tab above for full details.
Hot Spot
Friday evenings at 7:30pm the ETC Coffeehouse opens up its full menu of food and drink and hosts a differently themed event each week during the fall and spring semesters. Themes vary from live entertainment to board game nights to special events hosted by other organizations on campus.
Movie Nights
Tuesday or Wednesday evenings there will be a showing of a different movie in the Theater on the second floor, above ETC Coffeehouse. The Theater is a pretty sweet room, with real movie cinema seats with cup-holders, a surround-sound system and a large projector screen! Refreshments are served down in the Coffeehouse. Contact us to get a more detailed schedule. This event is hosted by the APO service fraternity.
Service Projects
Once a month we offer a Sunday afternoon service project and on the 3rd Thursday of each month the Wesley Food Pantry is always in need of volunteers. We help provide a week’s worth of groceries to over a 1000 persons each month. Click on the Service Opportunities tab above for details on upcoming projects.
