Watch Inception this Saturday night!

Inception movie poster

Come kick off the spring semester with a movie night and snack party!

This Saturday night at 8pm, we will be showing the blockbuster Inception in our very own theater complete with a big screen, surround sound, and movie theater seats.

Our snack menu includes soft pretzels, nacho chips with cheese, popcorn, veggie tray, apple cider, and soda. Feel free to bring your own favorite movie muchies, too!

The theater is located upstairs above Etc Cafe on the corner of Green and Goodwin in Urbana.

This event is free; don't forget to bring your friends!

Marathon and Half Marathon Training

The annual Illinois Marathon and Half Marathon will be April 30, 2011. Renee is organizing a group to run Saturday mornings this semester to train for the marathon/half marathon. If you are interested in group training for the event, or if you just like to run, contact Renee at rschroe2@illinois.edu.

Our first run will be this Saturday. We will be meeting at the entrace to the ARC (201 E. Peabody Dr. in Champaign) at 9am. Hope to see you there!

If you want to sign up for the marathon, half marathon, or 5k, go to

International Coffeehouse

International Coffeehouse is starting up again with the start of a new semester. We meet Friday afternoons at 4 in Etc. Cafe for an informal time of conversation, coffee, snacks, cultural exchange, and fun! You don't have to be an international student to join in the fun. All are welcome!

Are you a musician?

Do you sing or play an instrument? If you want to share your talents, we have an opportunity for you! Our Midweek worship band is always looking for new members to play on Wednesday nights. If you are interested in joining the band, or just stopping by a rehearsal to check it out, contact John Powers at jpowers3@illinois.edu

Super Bowl Chili Cook-Off!

Chili Cook-Off

As our tradition, we will again be having our annual Chili Cook-Off and Super Bowl party on Sunday, February 6th.

Bring your best batch of chili because the best tasting chili will win a prize!

We will also be showing Super Bowl XLV on the big screen.

Details to come.

Ideas for this semester!

As the spring semester is starting, we are open to changes and improvements in our programming. If you have any ideas or requests for activities, service projects, or something totally new, let Dylan know at campus_minister@wesleyui.org.
