24 Hour Prayer Room

praying hands

We will be having a 24 hour prayer room from 7pm this Friday, February 11 to 7pm Saturday, February 12. This is an excellent opportunity to set aside an hour of your day to spend some time alone with God in prayer. There will be various musical selections, art supplies and other activities, because there is more than one way to pray.

A sign-up sheet is posted outside of the PM office at Wesley if you are interested in joining us in this awesome experience. Sign up today!

If you have any questions, contact Brooke at mcclure1@illinois.edu.

Ash Wednesday Planning

The Ash Wednesday service will be at 6pm on Wednesday, March 9 in the Wesley sanctuary.

If you are interested in helping to plan our annual Ash Wednesday worship experience, please reply to this email saying so. We will have weekly planning meetings up to the week of Ash Wednesday. We will be having a meeting tonight at 6:30; if you're interested in coming to this meeting email Brooke at mcclure1@illinois.edu as soon as possible for details.

Wesley's Winter Potluck this Sunday!

Potluck Luncheon

Come in from the cold and join us in fellowship and good, free food! The church is having a potluck lunch this Sunday after the 11:15 service around 12:30 in the Great Hall. Students are guests, so you don't need to bring anything.

As a bonus, Pastor Howard will serenade this wonderful event with some romantic love songs accompanied by Pastor Dan. This is one event you don't want to miss!!!

Valentine Chocolate Party tomorrow

Chocolates from last year.

Etc Coffeehouse is having a Valentine chocolate making party tomorrow night to start off Valentine's Day weekend. You can come any time between 5:30 and 9pm to make and decorate chocolate candies to give to friends, classmates or eat yourself!

The $5 kit comes with:

Melting chocolate

Candies

Sparkle gel icing for decorating

Variety of nuts to decorate or put inside your chocolate

Design ideas

Tools for decorating

All proceeds from this event will go to the Wesley Evening Food Pantry

There will be full service coffee and snacks throughout the night as well as a roaring fireplace to warm up to.

Starting at 7:30, there will be live music in Etc. Coffeehouse.

APO Movie Night: Avatar

The service fraternity APO will be having a movie night next Tuesday in the Wesley Theater. They will be showing the hit movie Avatar. There will be time for fellowship at 6:30 before starting the movie at 7pm. Popcorn and concessions will be available.

Are you a musician?

Do you sing or play an instrument? If you want to share your talents, we have an opportunity for you! Our Midweek worship band is always looking for new members to play on Wednesday nights. If you are interested in joining the band, or just stopping by a rehearsal to check it out, contact John Powers at jpowers3@illinois.edu
